The Cooking Fashionistas: Tres Chic, Bella!

Bonjour Dames and Messieurs, Le Cooking Fashionistas are FINALLY back after our long and overdue hiatus [our apologies]!
Bid adieu to your ombre shorts and tropical quesadillas (check out the first episode here) cuz it’s time to pack our LV trolleys (Louis Vuitton or Lord Voldemort, whatever rocks your boat) and head to the land not only of the Eiffel, Louver but the macaroons, the afternoon teas, the fries (teehee) and gosh-by-golly-gee!, the Givenchy, Chanel, Dior and Lanvin!
Since we’re all poshed up, we went full Avant Garde with production with a little a WHOLE lot of help from our FMJ Co. bad assess, Franky, Mark and Jan.
So checked out our sexed up ham and cheese sandwiches and our DIY accessory hanger in video below:
[Watch video here]
Can’t view the video? Mauvaise chose (that means poor soul. wink*wink), I have come prepared. Here’s the step by step:
Materials needed:
– Frame (you can use: old picture frames/ silk screen frames)
– Wires/ Lanyards/ String/ Thread
– Brass cup hooks
– Paint / Varnish for polishing (optional)
– Dimensional Paint/ Glue/ Glue Gun
– Scissors
Procédure

1.       Mark frame on both sides (for the cup hooks)

2.       Screw the brass cup hooks into the frames (where you’ve placed your marks)

3.       Tie the wires between the cup hooks

4.       Decorate frames with dimensional glue. Leave to dry. (Apply 2 layers to get that “pop out” effect)

5.       Once dry, paint over with paint of your choice
6.       Leave to dry.

Tadaaa!
If that made you hungry, trot along to Justinne’s blog and check out how to make her Croique Monsieur (as seen in picture below):

So that’s it for The Cooking Fashionistas! We hope you liked this episode.
Once again we'd like to say a big fat THANK YOU to FMJ Co. for  this really awesome segment! Thanks for shooting this episode of The Cooking Fashes, guys! :*

Check out more of them on the youtube channel and make sure to like their facebook page, as well!

When Food & Fashion Meet II: Back Breaking & Cow Girlin'

Howdy y’all! It’s that time of the month again! For our second When Food & Fashion Meet entry, we wanted to take you to one of the oldest yet, an all time favorite place in Cebu- downtown!

I’ve always loved the hustle and bustle of the downtown area which has got to be one of my favorite places to go to for cheap thrills and great adventures. Adventure aside, the scourging heat and the inevitable thrill of the chase always reminds me of my first home. Feeling nostalgic, I decided to return to my favorite land of tianges and ukays with my ever dearest downtown virgin, Justinne!

In the 7 years that I’ve known her, she has always been the “Kikay” one between us two. Example number 1:

Sorry! I couldn’t help myself :D

So deciding where to bring her was easy as pie. Hmm.. I could use some pie right now.

New Feature: The Cooking Fashionistas Vlog Series- Of Quesadillas and Ombre

It's finally out! <insert awesome background music, please>

The Cooking Fashionistas

This collaboration is something that Justinne and I have been conceptualizing for a while now. Basically, what we have in mind is to share with our viewers some tricks we know in terms of food and fashion.

But honestly, it all just started with me begging her to teach me how to cook. Because apparently, that's what women do... we make sandwiches and watch over the kids. (Not!)
How'd you like my dance? :> :> :>

In case you can’t view the video, here’s a walk through:

Sinulog 2013

[White DIY shirt: Carter (P 150.00); Shorts: Folded and Hung; Leather bag: Saki]

PIT SENYOR FROM PAOLO & I!

And from these two crazy boys…

I don’t have a whole lot of Sinulog pictures. Yeah, I think I’m smarter than that. I don’t think I was willing to risk breaking my phone and the closest thing I have to a decent camera even for Sinulog. But I am proud to say that I stuck by that decision even when I was drunk and apparently, according to my friends, dancing to no music at all! HAHA.

Sinulog has definitely gotten bigger this year. The streets were more crowded and I hardly recognized anybody- but you know what they say, the bigger the better (more friends to make)! And since I wasn’t able to run into my barkada during the festivities, I stuck with Paolo and his friends from Manila and Cagayan- I’m pretty sure we showed them a good time ;)

Look who I met! And we’re still clean!

And then suddenly…

Photo

I’m pretty sure Sinulog’s been all the rave on like… every-single-networking-site so instead, I’m going to let my pictures do the talking. You can obviously tell that things went down that night. Haha.

I honestly think that I’ll be good for one more cray-cray mardi gras before I decide to hang my Sinulog whistle in a nice tidy corner (literally). But ‘til then, Sinulog 2013 was the bomb and if you haven’t partied Cebuano style, well, I don’t need to try convince you. You probably already died of jealousy already. Haha.

To next Sinulog and to Cebu!

Babe For Food, Dressing For Smurfs

Before the year ended, I met up with a very dear friend of mine, Justinne Go (aka your BFF in Cebu dinning, the babe for food) for a day of laughs and serious planning.

Luckily enough, she agreed to take my outfit shots and of course, it’s Justinne so I can be my naturally crazy self which explains pictures likes these:

[Top: IT Park Bazaar, Under Shirt: Thrifted, Pants: Tickled Pink; Shoes: Given]

[Arm Party: Silver heart bracelets: Mom; Brown bracelet: From Alex Ong Oh; Watch: Fossil; Aquamarine necklace worn as bracelet: Forever21]

I was really excited to take this top out after finding it at the IT Park annual Christmas bazaar. I was attracted to the vintage design and the crop cut which, although is already as good as dead, I decided to revive.  And since I wore it to work, I decided to wear it with an undershirt that somehow matched the print of my top and a scarf to mute out the loud print (because I broke the dress code, yet again). On any other day, I would’ve worn this top with high waist shorts and loafers. But then I’d have to get myself high waist shorts first. Meh, I never caught on to that trend- bad me.

And then there was the picture that made me realize I badly need a haircut. HAHA.

I’m really excited to tell all of you about a collaboration that Justinne and I will be venturing into. What do you think about Fashionable Cooking? Teehee. Although I can’t divulge all the details just yet, I think it would be safest to say that you’ll probably be getting a good laugh from watching me “try” to cook. But then again, I’ll look good doing it ;)

TO 2013 & TO MAKING THINGS HAPPEN!

Christmas Party with Team Smile

[Dress: The Maze, Ayala; Shoes; Payless c/o Sheen Judilla]

Sorry for the late upload! I caught the holiday fever and there are just so many things to blog about that I’m having a hard time keeping everything on track.

But I’ve saved one of my holiday highlights for last, our TEAM S.M.I.L.E. Christmas party!
I met Team Smile through a good friend of mine who recruited me to play Frisbee with them in 2011 and not long after that encounter, I met my current boyfriend and a great set of friends to match. 2 Christmases after, we’ve evolved into a group of about 30 people who I love to death.
