It’s Summer Time, I’m Feelin’ Fine

Yep, it’s definitely summer. I’m sweating as we speak and the purpose of my work jacket is officially obsolete [but I have to wear it anyways because of the dress code X_x]
I badly wish my office would allow us to come to work in something summery for once because Summer 2013 is in full bloom and it is scouring hot!
‘Til then, allow me to lust over my official first summer outfit for 2013 :)

New Feature: The Cooking Fashionistas Vlog Series- Of Quesadillas and Ombre

It's finally out! <insert awesome background music, please>

The Cooking Fashionistas

This collaboration is something that Justinne and I have been conceptualizing for a while now. Basically, what we have in mind is to share with our viewers some tricks we know in terms of food and fashion.

But honestly, it all just started with me begging her to teach me how to cook. Because apparently, that's what women do... we make sandwiches and watch over the kids. (Not!)
How'd you like my dance? :> :> :>

In case you can’t view the video, here’s a walk through:

I Swear, There Are No "Orange" Puns In This Post

[Coat: Loalde; Scarf Top: Loalde; Pants: Ayala Department Store; Flats: Old Navy; Watch: Fossil]

ORANGE YOU GLAD? Hahahahaha. Ok, stop. I apologize.

I decided not to get a haircut and to just let my hair grow out. Blogwise, I’d like to believe that I’m making the right choice by giving myself the benefit of endless styling possibilities. On the other hand, I’ll just be another blogger with long straight uncombed hair- but then again, I’d be a blogger with long hair I can use to cover my armpits when I’m in sleeveless tops. AHA! Silver lining, I believe I have found you! [I crack myself up sometimes]

One more rant about my hair problems and I promise, this’ll be the end of it

I NEED TO FIX THIS ANNOYING STRAND- it’s always finding its way into my outfit posts. So annoying.. grrr!

On a not-hair-related-note, there’s an interesting story behind my top. Wearing it made me feel so much like a kite and crazy as I am, I spent most of my day running around the office with my arms stretched out pretending to be one! I know I’m too fond of wearing white, even for my own good, but owning pretty tops like this with pretty details makes me feel like a million bucks. Plus, I had a good reason to run around the office which was great (the main reason why I love it)! And not to mention, the cut made me wish I was at the beach- I should’ve considered that before coming in to work.

BTW, How’s everyone doing with the SIN TAX bill coming into full blow? I know it’s for a good cause and my lungs will thank the government in the future but I started the week with 10 perfectly shaped nails and by Wednesday, I’ve already bit through 7 of them. Running around the office isn’t something I’m accustomed to, I promise, but it’s better than me battling how many sticks I have to cut in order to eventually quit. TO QUITTING! (I don’t know how many times I’ve said this in my lifetime)

Dressing For 2013

To welcome all you fashion fanatics to the new year, I thought I’d do some research on the next big thing in fashion for the year 2013. Especially since I couldn’t sit well with emerald being the pantone of the year- how do they expect me, a morena at its finest, to stomach emerald? I don’t know yet, but I will try my hardest.

In all honesty, I’m not such a big fan of trends. I like to hold off trends until they’ve died down or before they start or hardly at all. Last year, silhouettes were a really big deal and so were detachable collars, tie-dyed bikers shorts and whatnot- all which until now, I own none of. I’ve always been sort of a sloppy dresser, always in something too big or too boyish, if boho ever made it’s comeback, I’d be a shoe-in!

But I made a promise to start dressing more maturely this year. By this I mean, I promised Paolo I would dress more femininely and until now, I am still trying to figure out what the hell that means. And according to my research, if I am going to abide by any trend, 2013 is going to be that year!

PIN UP GIRLS, DRIVING MISS DAISY AND EVERYTHING FANCY SHMANCY!

The 50's are IN and SO AM I!

Color palette for 1950's dressing

On other news, here are some of their fashion forecasts:

One way- ALL the way:  Last year’s fashion had to do with a lot of color blocking. Bright hues on top of bright hues and lots of neon. This year, I am glad to say we can all take a break from that a dress down in one colored pieces. Black on black? I am in.

Pattern palooza: I’m guessing this goes beyond the floral patterned pants. I want bold patterned silk pants, I’m thinking Andy Warhol on my jeans and suite then it’ll be a good day!

Futurama drama: If we can’t live it yet (flying cars and teletransporting), then I guess we can always dress it! I guess my metallic pants weren’t such a risqué buy after all. Cannot wait to buy myself these:

Bare-ing it: Mid-riffs, Bralets, Peek-a-boo cut outs. I pass. Or… I baring my back is good enough, right?

In Darkness There Is Light: This year has soo much variety, I’m loving it! We’ve got a lot of mixing and matching going on for this year, folks. There seems to be some romance going on between our brights and blacks- opposites I am willing to work with.
Sporty Spice: 4 words: THIS IS MY YEAR!
Leather It Up: Leather shorts, leather pants, leather skirts, leather dresses, leather tops. I think I just died.
If you’re asking me for my verdict, I would definitely have to say that this year was made for power dressing and making big BIG statements. There is definitely no room for mediocrity when it comes to dressing anymore, people. IT’S TIME TO GO BIG OR GO HOME!

What are you excited for?

Let It Snow!

Merry Christmas!! xx
[Reunited with my baby love, Meow. 'Tis definitely the season!]

[Top: Thrifted; Pants: Madeeni Finds; Watch: Fossil; Bag: Bally]

Christmas is in the air! And if you're a part of my family, the Sunday before Christmas always means one thing, family portraits.

For this year, my mother wanted me and my sister in shades of black or grey and since I was only informed of this the morning of the pictorial, I guess this was the best thing I could find since I'm still not allowed to wear shorts/ skirts. [I shall explain in my future posts]

I decided not to wear too many accessories with this outfit since the top has so many designs on it already. I do believe I was quite lucky to have bought a winter-y top a while back- who would've known that it would come in handy? Plus, I love how it hugs my body perfectly! Not bad, considering that this top was thrifted! :)

Thought I'd share some of the pictures our family took this year. I thought it would be fun to show you where I got my weird side from.

Merry Christmas!
I love you all!
